The problem
Most self-employed people spend 6–8 hours every quarter on tax admin. That is four full working days a year on something a computer can do in seconds.
Finantr connects to your bank and HMRC directly. Income is tracked as it arrives. Tax is calculated in real time. Submissions are filed on time, automatically.
How it works
Link your business bank account securely via Open Banking. Finantr is read-only — it cannot move or access your money, only read transactions.
Every transaction is classified and your tax liability is recalculated in real time. You always know exactly what you owe — before any deadline.
Quarterly returns are submitted directly to HMRC before the deadline. You receive a confirmation when each submission goes through.
Features
Your liability updates every time a transaction comes in. Income tax bands, personal allowance, and NI Class 4 are calculated correctly — not estimated loosely.
Quarterly returns are filed directly via the HMRC Making Tax Digital API. Connect your Government Gateway account once and Finantr handles the rest.
Supports major UK banks via TrueLayer. Transactions are captured in real time — no exports, no manual imports. Read-only access only.
Your upcoming obligations are listed clearly. You see exactly what is due, when it is due, and what Finantr has already filed on your behalf.
“Most self-employed people spend 6–8 hours every quarter on tax admin. With Finantr, that number is zero.”

Questions
Making Tax Digital for Income Tax became mandatory on 6 April 2026. If you are self-employed or a landlord earning over £50,000, you are now legally required to submit quarterly digital income updates to HMRC using compatible software. The threshold drops to £30,000 from April 2027. Finantr is that software.
Your first quarterly update under MTD is due on 7 August 2026, covering income from 6 April to 5 July 2026. After that, deadlines fall every quarter: 7 November, 7 February, and 7 May. Finantr files each one automatically before the deadline.
Yes. Finantr uses Open Banking via TrueLayer — a regulated service authorised by the FCA. We have read-only access to transactions and cannot initiate payments. Your bank credentials are never shared with us. All tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256.
Most major UK banks are supported through TrueLayer's Open Banking network, including Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, NatWest, Monzo, Starling, and more. You will see the full list when you connect.
Finantr handles your quarterly MTD submissions automatically. For complex situations — multiple income sources, relief claims, or year-end self-assessment — you may still want professional advice. Finantr does not replace a qualified accountant.
Your 30-day free trial begins the day you create your account. You will not be charged until the trial ends. You can cancel at any time from your account settings.
MTD is live now for everyone earning over £50,000. Finantr is in final testing before public launch. Join the waitlist for early access and a 30-day free trial.
